Some color combinations never really leave my desk. Warm browns, aged paper, faded black ink… they’re the kind of palette that quietly does all the talking.

The background began with soft, uneven blends of Distress Paint color, keeping the surface intentionally imperfect. Instead of aiming for a smooth finish, I let the ink settle into the paper, creating those subtle shifts that make every section feel slightly different.

The tiny things stamp with the coordinating dies are so perfect for this mini book!

Texture is really where this piece comes to life. Loose black thread , the torn edges stay rough, the paper fibers remain visible, and the dimensional embellishments lift everything just enough to cast tiny shadows across the surface. Those are the details I always find myself reaching for. Not because they’re dramatic, but because they make the project feel touched, handled, and genuinely handmade.

The checkerboard pattern adds a small interruption to all the organic textures. It’s graphic, a little unexpected, and keeps the eye moving across the tag. The neutral embellishments do the same thing, they’re not there to steal the spotlight, just to create little pauses between one layer and the next.

I think my favorite part of creating like this is never chasing perfection. I’m far more interested in worn edges than clean cuts, in ink that doesn’t blend perfectly, in thread that twists wherever it wants, and in layers that reveal themselves slowly. Those little imperfections give the piece its personality. They’re the reason handmade projects never tell exactly the same story twice.

And that’s all for today, If you have any questions, suggestions or if you want to let me know what  you think of this project, leave a message!

Stay happy , stay creative…Till next time!

Ciao Zoey
