Shape as in form, obviously. Nobody is doing cardio here.

I decided to take the theme quite literally and made the shape itself a major part of this mixed media arch project, building everything around the tall architectural structure.

The surface is covered with pieces from a Tim Holtz paper pad, overlapping different prints, numbers and typography inside the structure. I kept the palette mostly neutral and aged, with touches of green and red breaking through all the brown, cream and black.

Crackle Paste adds another layer without covering all the paper underneath. I like that some areas are quite messy and heavily textured while others still show the original print clearly. Distress Spray Stain helped push the background further and made the different pieces feel less separate.

I also used a bits of collage tape here and there, just for some more intestest and fun!
