Make a wish

Hello Crafters !

Today I want to share with you this quick process video I shared on my IGTV channel.

Please note this...

The video is a quick process video. I know that it is fast, so in case you would like to see a slower version of it, you can drop me a line into the comment section or email me and I will try my best to upload a slower version.
The idea behind this video, is to simply share with you a process, it is not intended to teach you a step by step process, that is why I kept it under 3 minutes.

The goal was to create a rust effect with Distress Paint

  1. Add clogs to the background and cover your surface with black gesso.
  2. Start adding layers of colors. I used Distress Paint and an old brush.
  3. Keep adding layers of colors using the same brush (don’t clean it!) and lightly dry between layers.
  4. Use distress oxide to accentuate the oxide effect and spritz water to make it react.
  5. Repeat the process until you like the result. TIP: Use metal distress paint to add a bit of shine!
  6. For the butterfly I used the so old technique by Tim Holtz. Simply add your colors to your craft sheet, add water and lightly touch the puddle with the paper. Lift and dry between EVERY layer (if you use distress oxide ink pads)
  7. Sew around
  8. Glue everything together!

And that’s all for today, If you have any questions, suggestions or if you want to let me know what  you think of this project, leave a message!

Stay happy , stay creative…Till next time!

Ciao Zoey
