In this blog post, we will be looking at a combination of inks and spray paints that can be used to create art within the world of Mixed Media. It is quite simple to create an image from scratch but if you want something more interesting, more stylized and perhaps even highly detailed then this could be for you.

Before I jump straight into my stencil project, I wanted to share a few handy tips with you.

  • When working with Clear Embellishments, I like to start with covering the back side with matte gel medium and then working from the top color I want to see first, till the very last one (usually I use white last)
  • Make sure to let your project air dry as the use of heat gun can alter the plastic surface

I started with adding color to the back of the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Transparent Layers. I let it dry then added a layer of Matte Gel Medium on the front of the transparent layer.

I used crackle paste over the stencil and again, I let it air dry.

Once it was dry, I added to the top some sprays. Let it dry again then I added some embellishments.

And that’s all for today, If you have any questions, suggestions or if you want to let me know what  you think of this project, leave a message!

Stay happy , stay creative…Till next time!

Ciao Zoey
