Here we are to a brand new challange over Simon Says Stamp and with a Mixed Media Art Journal Tutorial

This week’s theme over Simon Says Stamp Monday Challange is “Chill Out”. There are so many way to interpret this theme, for me, when I think about it, I immediately think about art journaling. I do Art Journal when I need to vent, to relax, to find peace or simply to chill after a long day at work.
I like to start my page with some collaged background, I also used a brown paper tape to prevent anything to soak into the rest of the journal.

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2697″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]I worked on a 6 x 4 art journal in a double spread. I love this size of Art Journal because it is not too big nor too little.
I covered the page with Distress Crayons, I scribbled them randomly, then with the help of a baby wipe, I blended the colors together.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2695″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]I also used Distress Markers to add highlights and shadows around the whole page. I like the bold contrast I got from mixing Distress Markers and Distress Crayons. With the same color I also added some depth to the modeling paste that I used through a Tim Holtz Layering Stencil.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2693″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]To add even more power to the word trust, I used white gesso all around the word. With the Distress Marker I added even more shadow to get a dramatic look. I kept blending everything in order to get no harsh lines with baby wipes.

When my Mixed Media Art Journal page was done, I added a little stickers.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”2691,2692,2693,2694,2695,2696,2697,2698,2699″ img_size=”large”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
