Here we are to a brand new challange over Simon Says Stamp!

This week’s theme over Simon Says Stamp Monday Challange is Food and Drinks!
To embrace this fun theme I wanted to make a Birthday Card! Of course I had to make it my own way and I even “baked” my cake…ehhehe!!

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1894″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_column_text]The background of my card is a piece of Sticky-back canvas from Ranger. I love it because it is already glued on the back, which makes it extra easy to stick it where I need it! I used Dylusion paints and the mini brayer to apply color randomly. I started with the Bubblegum pink, let it dry and then again with the Lemon Zest. I let it dry then with a bit of gesso I tried to set back the colors as they were truly vibrant.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1895″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_column_text]I took a piece of manila cardstock and I cut it into piece that were going to be the piece of my cake. I tried to shape them in a funny way but when I then added gesso I kinda lost the original shape….ehmmm my bad! LOL!!

I also glued down scrap pieces of Tissue Wrap Paper by Tim Holtz and when the glue was dry I started adding colors with Distress Markers. I wanted to use fun and bright colors as of course this was a birthday card![/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1897″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_column_text]I sticked the canvas to a piece of cardstock from the collection summer vibes by simple stories – I of course added some stitches around and then with a left over from the cardstock I stamped the sentiment.

I love this stamp set by Tim Holtz because it has some really nice everyday messages and also some really fun scribble writings that are perfect for the inside of the card too!

As final touch I threw (literally threw!!) in some Cotton Candy sequins that were included into the Monthly card kit subscription from Simon Says Stamp — which if you aren’t already subscribed, I deeply recommend you to do!![/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”1898,1897,1895,1896,1894,1893″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]

  2. I would seriously turn another year older JUST to get a birthday card from you! This is so flippin’ fantastic! I love the colors you used and how you made the cake so vibrant without being obnoxiously vibrant (if that makes any sense). You just always hit the right note with every piece of art. I look like a weirdo whenever I come to your blog because your projects just make me sit here and stare and smile at the computer screen as if I’m in some sort of happy trance! Excellent work yet again!
