Hello Crafters!

Here we are to a brand new challange over Simon Says Stamp!

This week’s theme over Simon Says Stamp Monday Challange is “Stitch it up!”
As you know, I love adding stitches to my project, is my way to finish everything and it is definitely one of my marks on a project. For this week’s challenge I wanted to do something that I wasn’t doing since a long time now…a mini album!
Of course this has nothing to do with the typical scrapbooking mini albums , but it is my own version of it. I am waiting for the photo to be printed and then I will add them — follow my instagram account as I will share there the complete album with all the photo aswell.

The base for this mini album is a couple of pages from a romance book I bought at a thrift store – i love the fact that the pages are already yellowish due the dust and time that has passed. Since this is a romance book, the pages are ultra thin. To avoid any rippage, I glued two pages together and then covered both sides with a bit of gesso. I still wanted the page to show up, so I added gesso but not too much.

I used the same “theme” all along the mini album , gesso, pigments, strips of washi tape and papers from the my mind’s eye paper pad “my story”. I also used Tim Holtz mini stencil to add some more texture to the page without adding any bulk. I was not going for a super thick and tridimensional album, so I kept everything simple and plain.

Then I stitched around every page and I was really careful because as I mentioned, this was an old book, so I had to make sure there was no ripping pages — which sadly happened at some point, but it is not that visible, is it? 😉

Adding stitching for me is something awesome, it calms my eager to create and it put a STOP on a project. I always tend to exagerate when it comes to textures, sometimes it is hard to stop, but I know that the moment I stitch , then the project is done. It is sort of relief, I do not know if I am alone in this hahah please tell me i am not going crazy!

Anyway, I can’t wait to see what you will create, I hope you will love this theme as much as I did!
