Here we are to a brand new challange over Simon Says Stamp!

 

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”3089″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]I had this wooden ticket for years and I never knew what to do with it — so when I saw this girl vintage image I knew for a fact what I had to do! I wanted to bring back a technique I used to do a lot ages ago….The Transfer Technique!
The way I do it it might take a long time and I am pretty sure that there is a way that is faster, but this one turned out to be the only one that didn’t left any paper…you know that white little halo that you get after transfering the image? Anyway I prepped my image in this way – I grabbed the gel medium and I applied a first coat using a flat brush and going horizontal. I let it COMPLETELY dry – no heat gun, just air dry. Then I did a second layer vertically, again I let it dry. Lastly I did a layer oblique and let it dry again. When everything was dry I cut the image trying to stay as close as possible to the real image ( a bit of backrground was left especially near the head) then I took a bowl and I put the image in and covered with water. I let it sit there for 20 minutes. Meanwhile I worked on my background…[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”3092″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]I covered the ticket with gesso, I didn’t want that the background was going to be absorbed in the wood so I wanted to put a thin layer of gesso. Then I added pieces of tissue wrap paper, I wasn’t interested into getting a precise look, I just wanted to achieve textures. I let it dry and meanwhile I die cut the Tattered Flowers from old book pages. To tie everything together, I used left overs from the die cutting on the backrgound aswell. I used gel medium to glue everything together. I also used strips of textured tape here and there.
I used distress crayons to color the entire panel. It was easy because distress markers are like butter! So easy to blend!
To color my flowers I used a bunch of Prima Marketing Colors that I diluted with water. I heat gun the flower till they were really dry and then with the back of a brush I rolled them to make them slightly 3d.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”3087″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Before transferring the image to my wood backrgound I wanted to make sure that all my colors were set and well dry. Then I removed the image from the water, let the excess of water drip down and I placed the image over my surface and of course I had to flip the image backwards in order to have the previously glued part against my wood panel. With my fingers I started rubbing all over it till every little piece of paper was removed. It took me only a couple of minutes. I covered the image with gel medium and then I added the flowers as decoration.
It was really hard for me not to use my lovely sewing machine, so I had to draw a couples of black lines around some of the flowers and a bit on the top of the wooden frame…….
