Here we are to a brand new challange over Simon Says Stamp!

This week’s theme over Simon Says Stamp Monday Challange is to add some stitches onto your creation, real, die created or faux, the choice is yours.

It’s A stitch Up

…and of course this hits home in my heart! You all know how much I love adding stitches to my project!
It’s been a while now, and every project I make I have to add stitches to it! It is addicting, and I can’t call a project done until I added some black stitches around!

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”3201″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]The base of my card is completely covered with bits and strips of paper. When I do backgrounds I always start with book paper. I rip them and cut them randomly, so, often from every project I am left with tons of smaller pieces that I would hardly use on a new background because the pieces are too little. I didn’t want to trash all this paper, so I decided to use them all to create my background.
I glued them down then I let the glue dry.

With the spatula I added gesso making sure to not cover the entire surface – then I let it dry.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”3203″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]With a black water color pencil, I draw small strokes around the sides of the card and with a water brush I let the pencil dissolve creating a faded black shadow all around the sides. I let it dry and then with the sewing machine I stitched around the borders.

I usually stitch twice around my project, one is a straight line, the other one is more inconsistent. Sometimes I also add a zig zag stitches just to create movement, as I did on this background.
I stamped the Dina Wakley heart stamp with archival ink and then with the watercolors I added a bit of color. I wanted to make it all black and white, but then I couldn’t resist and added some red![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”3202″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]I also stamped some images from the Tim Holtz Great Outdoors stamp set and I found the perfect stickers to match the stamp!
And the card was done! Easy peasy![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”3199,3200,3201,3202,3203,3204″ img_size=”large”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
