Here we are to a brand new challange over Simon Says Stamp!

This week’s theme over Simon Says Stamp Monday Challange is “World Traveller”. Such a fun and versatile theme, I had so much fun working on the project for this week as the theme travel is one of my favorite!
I made this art journal page using a bunch of distress  markers, and I definitely like the way it turned out! Not as I imagined, but still something I kinda like!

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2138″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_column_text]To create the background, I first apply a layer of gesso as I am working on a small art journal page with quiete thin page. I wanted to make sure the page were well prepped before adding a lot of color and especially water! So I applied gesso and let it dry. Then I took pieces of tissue wrap paper, I always have pieces of tissue wrap paper laying around the table as I use it a lot to create a base for my background. I adhered it with glue and seal and again, let it dry.
I wanted to add texture, so I used one of the new mini stencils by Tim Holtz and I applied a bit of Prima Flower Texture Paste white crackle…useless to say…I let it dry![/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2136″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_column_text]The globe die is an awesome thinlits! I love it and I am happy that I bought it! I already have 10932847205 projects in mind using this! But back to my page, I used the globe die as an accent to the page. I colored it using distress crayons and then I blended it with a bit of water.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2137″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_column_text]Finally, as title, I decided to use on of the Flashcards by Tim Holtz and Idea-ology. I covered it with a bit of gesso and distress crayons, then I crinkled it by holding the flashcard in my hand. I highlighted the crinkles with distress in vintage photo and black soot and then I adhered it to the page.
I also stitched the border of the page to give it my signature.

  4. Wow, girl! You are the queen of distressing techniques– but in the most gorgeous way possible! I love how you made this look so weathered and tattered (as if a traveler had packed it from place to place), but still kept the colors soft and pretty. Really incredible work here!

  5. Stunning pages! The crackled lettering is fabulous, and I love how the colours intensify and brighten towards the centre. Amazing texture and depth – I just love this.
