Today I will show you a project I made using Color Burst and Liquid Metals by Ken Oliver. I had so much fun playing with the new colors that Ken released at CHA 2016.

Colors are just VIBRANT and PERFECT and Liquid metals? Pure Heaven![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_single_image image=”1825″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]I cut a piece of Mixed Media Paper by Ken Oliver – this paper is simply PERFECT for using Color Burst and Liquid Metals (But also for any other mixed media project…this paper is just the best you’ll ever try!)

I added a bunch of pieces of paper and then I washed it down with Gesso.

I started spritzing Color Burst over it and I just used a teeny bit of this powder. I started with Ultramarine Blue and Turquoise (this is a new color). I blended it with a watercolor brush then I let it dry.

I added Color Burst Chartreuse (another new one) and let it dry again.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_single_image image=”1828″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]When everything was dry I washed out the background again with Gesso. Then I used the new Liquid Metals to add some Metal effect over the Gesso. Useless to say that I am in love….!

I added more color to make the body shape with some more Ultramarine blue mixed with Turquoise and then I stamped over a beautiful grungy star from a stamp set by Ken Oliver. I colore it with Liquid Metals Metallic Saffron.

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_single_image image=”1826″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]I cut the heart from the same Mixed Media Paper by Ken Oliver and colored it with Metallic Sky and Metallic Jade , added a bit of Crackle paint then aded some Color Burst Turquoise to highlight the cracks.

And that’s all for today, If you have any questions, suggestions or if you want to let me know what  you think of this project, leave a message!

  1. OK, I have been thinking about converting some of my recent board game collages into hangies like this and this has encouraged me to go for it! What an awesome collage. The silhouette is amazing and depth of color tremendous. Big hugs, Autumn
