Here we are to a brand new challange over Simon Says Stamp!

This week’s theme over Simon Says Stamp Monday Challange is “Thinking of You”The 11th November is Veterans Day, in Commonwealth countries it is known as Armistice Day. In 1918 it signified the end of the 1st World War and is traditionally a day to remember all of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

For this occasion I wanted to make an ATC card.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2455″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]I started by glueing an old page from a book to the surface and then I cut it to fit the ATC size. I covered it up with a bit of gesso to make the surface ready to be paint on. I took a couple of Distress Paints in the blue-ish shade and started to blend all the colors. With the help of a bit of gesso I toned down the background to resemble the cloudy sky.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2458″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]I looked through my stash of Found Relatives Occasions Card by Tim Holtz and found the perfect photo for this theme! So I fussy cut the little boy out and sticked it down to a couple of sheets of plain tissue paper.

I darkened up the edges and i also darkened up the edges of the ATC.

I glued to the background some strips of paper i had layering around for another project, luckly they were perfect match with my backrgound, then I also glued down the little guy.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2456″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]As final step I wanted to add some dramatic elements to this gorgeous image ,so I cut some shapes from an old book pages, and I tried to resemble feathers. Lastly I added some stamps to create interest in the background and then I stitched all around the edges of my ATC card and also a couple of lines just to add even more interest.

Last touch, was of course Tim Holtz stickers![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”2455,2456,2457,2458″ img_size=”large”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
