Here we are to a brand new challange over Simon Says Stamp!

This week’s theme over Simon Says Stamp Monday Challange is RED WHITE and/or BLUEIt will be Independence Day here in the United States tomorrow, there will be huge processions, Stars and Stripes flying, fireworks and generally lots of people having fun! We would love for you to join in the party by creating something using one or all of the red/white/blue colours. We will be looking forward to seeing whatever colour/s you choose to use!

This week we are showcasing some fabulous Sizzix Products. Sizzix produce a huge range of Die Cut Machines, Craft Dies, Embossing Folders and so much more, you don’t have to use them to join in but if you have them we would love to see them used!

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2898″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]I cut a tag from a watercolor paper – I used a Sizzix die to do so. I love this Die Cut because it allows me to cut out tags from any kind of paper! I also cut out some Scrolls – I glued the scrolls to the Tag and then I covered it with gesso. I let it try and then I then I started to add color.
I took my time in this process and I really enjoyed doing it so.
I wanted a really grungy background, I wanted a rust feeling (there is not much rust at the end of the project tho, lol!) and I wanted it to be really textured![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2906″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]While the backrgound was drying, I die cut another piece for my tag. An heart from the Heart Primitive dies, another of my favorite dies from Sizzix. I used an old and ugly tissue tape to mask the area I wanted to color with blue, then I did the same with the part I wanted to do red. I let it dry before removing the tape, this helped me getting a clean edge. I added a couple of stamps to add texture and interest, then with the white and black paint I added a bit of color to the edges of the heart.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2904″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]I stitched the tag around the sides then I took the white paint and with a sponge I added some more white to the edge of the tag. Then I took the black paint and another sponge and I did the same thing. I stitched again around the tag and I stitched also around the heart. The heart didn’t come out good, I am not really good when I have to do curves, but hey, it does not have to be perfect!

I added a paper doll and a stickers and the tag was done.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”2897,2898,2899,2900,2901,2902,2903,2904,2905,2906″ img_size=”large”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
