Hello Crafters!

Here we are to a brand new challange over Simon Says Stamp!

This week’s theme over Simon Says Stamp Monday Challange is “Explore the World”…and I leave you to Lorraine’s words here : “We live on a beautiful planet and we would love to see some sort of voyage of discovery.  You might like to make a winter wonderland project with the North and South Poles as your inspiration, or maybe you would prefer to go on a desert safari or an underwater voyage of discovery. This challenge is open to so many different themes we will be looking forward to seeing what you make!”
For this week I wanted to re-make an old project of mine. I always loved making up things with cardboard, so when I read the theme for this week’s challenge I was so excited to get playing again with cardboard – This project “Wander” has been one of my favorite among others, but as always after I made it, I had a lot of thought back on how could I have done it better! …So, here is my second take on cardboard luggages!

The luggage are made of cardbaord and covered with Tim Holtz tissue paper, even if all covered with gesso you can hardly see the tissue paper…!!!

I covered them with black gesso and set aside to dry.  I used a bunch of Color Bloom Spray mist from Prima Marketing to give them a vintages/worn look.

I used Tim Holtz ephemera pack to decorate the luggage, of course I was going for the theme, so the vintage map was perfect! I simply cut it in half and distressed it a little to make it look even more vintage. I love the effect and it fits perfectly the whole design!

Oh my!! Really, I am speechless!! LOVE this!!! Utterly cool project, and I am enthralled in how you made your luggage, stacked it and added in all the little elements like the map! I can imagine someone in an old Victorian room gathering all of their luggage for a long journey. hugs, Maura
