[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]For this week’s challenge I decided to create this 3D home decoration. I was missing making 3D projects and I am so happy that this week I was inspired to create one.
The idea behind this project is that books are our “ship” to knowledge…makes sense? I also love this paper doll because I really think that this little lady reminds me of this photo that they took of my first day of Kindergarden.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”3935″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]What do you think? LOL!!!
Anyway, I used a bunch of Tim Holtz products, you can find the list of the products I used at the bottom of this post. I used cardboard to create the books and old book pages to create the pages of the books.[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Italiano” tab_id=”1516029477498-39098072-e95a9052-8b9921e6-2b3d”][vc_column_text]Ciao Creative!

I also added a strip of Collage Paper where I stamped over the Simon Says Stamp Background Stamp called Good Reading. I adhered it with gel medium. Butterflies are dies from Simon Says Stamp also and from a punch from Tim Holtz. They all are die cut from Tim Holtz Scrapbook Paper.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”3939″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]To create the books I used a long strip of cardboard that I then modelled to mimic a book cover. The pages of the first book are made of old book pages that I simply stashed together and cut to size. I distressed the page with Distress Inks and Distress Paints. I used the stapler in the middle then glued everything together with gel medium again. I only glued in the middle though, so it was looking like a real book.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”3941″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]These other two books are made the same way. A long strip of card board and inside a bunch of paper stashed together to make the book bulk. I used again Tim Holtz scrapbook paper to decorate the cover and I also used Distress Paint to add little details.

In case you are wondering, the project is 5.11 inches x 2.75 inches (13 cm x 7 cm) .

  5. I love 3D projects and this one is stunning Zoey! Yes, the ship of knowledge does make a lot of sense and you have translated it beautifully into this project. The paper doll girl does not too happy, but I guess you don’t look happy in your photo either, I think we sometimes forget that first days at school can be a bit daunting. Your ship is amazing! Hugs, Anne xx
