Here we are to a brand new challange over Simon Says Stamp!

This week’s theme over Simon Says Stamp Monday Challange is “Thanks / Thanksgiving”With Thanksgiving in the United States being on the last Thursday of the month we thought it would be nice to join in with the celebrations. Whether you decide to make cards or decorations, we will be looking forward to seeing what you create!!

I made this mixed media card!

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2518″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]I covered my cardstock with a bunch of die cuts from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Tattered Leaves die, I glued them on the background randomly using a mix of gesso and distress collage medium matte. I set aside to dry then I covered everything with a big coat of gesso and I used an old brush to apply it. I used an old brush because I wanted to get the worn and distressed look in the background.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2517″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]I mixed a couple of reds and yellows from the Tim Holtz Distress Paint collection, and blended everything together by using another brush. I let it dry then I grabbed a bit of black gesso mixed with water and applied it to the background. Waited a couple of seconds then I took everything off with a baby wipe.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2519″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Finally I applied a bit of Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint over the leaves and let the crack kick in. Then I simply highlighted the cracks with a bit of black and added a bit of shadows here and there. Stitched the sides and sticked the background to another piece of cardstock that I folded in two to make a standard card.
Tim Holtz’s stickers are always so handful when it comes to holiday sentiments, I love this one so much.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”2520,2519,2518,2517″ img_size=”large”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
