Here we are to a brand new challange over Simon Says Stamp! And this month we are having another great Guest Designer! I have been Simon Says Stamp! Guest Designer too in January and I was so scared and excited at the same time…so make sure to head over our Guest Designer page and give her a HUGE cyber hug and welcome her!

This week’s theme over Simon Says Stamp Monday Challange is “Make your Own Background” and we will be featuring Darkroom Door Stamps.

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1809″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_column_text]I created this card and as background I used a Darkroom Door Stamp called Postcard. I stamped it over a piece of cardstock and used Distress Ink to color it. I mixed a couple of them (Bundled Sage, Mustard Seeds and Worn Lipstick).

I wanted this whole piece to look “dreamy” so I toned everything down with gesso and darkened up the side to accentuate the dreamy effect.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1812″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_column_text]I layered other stamped images (always from the Darkroom Door) and gave them the same texture. I loved to use Distress Ink to color the images, they give it a watercolor look yet really bold.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1810″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_column_text]I also used another stamp from Stampers Anonymous that was my focal point. I stamped it a two times. One was my base and the other stamped image I simply fussy cut some pieces and then adhered to the first image to create depth.

To color this stamp I used distress markers. It was so easy!

As always, as final touch I stitched around everything with my sewing machine. I love to add this final touch to my projects as it gives it a finish touch and also makes the project feel complete.

To back up this card I adhered a piece of card stock that is from Prima Marketing.[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”1808,1809,1810,1811,1812″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]
