Here we are to a brand new challange over Simon Says Stamp!

This week’s theme over Simon Says Stamp Monday Challange is “OL’ Christmas Tree”

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2547″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]For this week’s challenge I wanted to make a Christmas Tag- I covered my Manila tag with random pieces of book pages mixed with Tissue wrap paper….you should know by now that this is my go to way to start every project! Partially covered it with a mix with gesso and water, initially i wanted to preserve the book text in the background, but then….as you will see, I went for a full in textured background! I used distress paint in green shades to make the background.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2550″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]To make the tree, I simply cut from a piece of cardstock a triangle shape that then I covered up with a bunch of stripes, turned over the triangle and cut all the pieces that were outside my original triangle. Covered the tree with a bit of water and gesso then used the same distress paint of the background to add some color. I let it dry then I went over with the green distress crayon to highlight the stripes.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2548″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]I used a bit of gesso all around the sides of the tag and I also made some dots over the tree to emulate the christmas decoration on the tree. Then I stitched the sides of the tag and the christmas tree to the tag.
Lastly i flicked a bit of red just to give a hint of a different color.

As par usual, Tim Holtz stickers are perfect for the sentiment![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”2545,2546,2547,2548,2549,2550,2551″ img_size=”large”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
