Today I will show you an art journal page that I made using Ken Oliver Color Burst — they are amazing! I love these concentrated powder, they are so bright and colorful!

For my art journal page, I started with a Mixed Media Card-stock cut into an A5 size in order to fit my art journal. I spritzed over the page a bit of Color Burst Violet and Color Burst Indigo and then I sprayed a bit of water.

Note that these powder are highly concentrated, so a teeny bit goes a really long way![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_single_image image=”1522″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]Then I used a stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop and I applied a bit of gesso with a brush through it. I let it dry and then I took Color Burst Lemon Yellow and I put a bit of powder on my Craft Sheet. I added water and with another brush I watercolored near the stenciled image. I also let it drip a bit on the top to match the Violet/Purple drips on the bottom. I am in love with how well they mix and blend creating this awesome new color![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1523″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1524″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]As I was creating the drips, I had another piece of Mixed Media Cardstock where I was “catching” all the excess. From that paper, after I let it dry well, I die cut a reindeer shape and an alphabet. I used Color Burst Yellow Ochre to add more color and match the background. I simply added water to a few drops of powder, again, these are highly pigmented so you really need a teeny bit of it.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_single_image image=”1525″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]Then I simply stitched around the page (duh of course!) and glued everything together!

Per creare questa pagina sono partita da un cartoncino per Mixed Media tagliato a misura A5 in modo da poter poi essere incollato nel mio Art Journal. Ho fatto cadere qualche polvere di Color Burst Violet e Color Burst Indigo e poi ho spruzzato un pochino di acqua.

Ricordatevi che queste polveri sono MOLTO concentrate, quindi serve davvero poca polvere![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_single_image image=”1522″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]Ho poi preso uno stencil della The Crafter’s Workshop e con un pennello ho passato un poco di gesso attraverso lo stencil. Ho lasciato asciugare e poi con il Color Burst Lemon Yellow mischiato con acqua ho aggiunto del colore intorno all’immagine dello stencil. Ho inoltre lasciato cadere delle gocce di colore per bilanciare le gocce che erano cadute nello sfondo quando ho fatto asciugare il viola. Adoro il modo in cui questi due colori insieme creano un altro meraviglioso colore nuovo![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1523″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1524″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]Mentre creavo le gocce di colore dello sfondo, avevo messo come protezione un altro cartoncino mixed media per poter recuperare tutto l’eccesso e quindi non sprecare niente! Da questo cartoncino, dopo che l’ho lasciato ben asciugare, ho fustellato una renna e un alfabeto per creare il titolo della pagina. Ho usato il Color Burst Yellow Ocher per aggiungere colore a queste fustellate per richiamare lo sfondo. Ho semplicemente aggiunto acqua ad una puntina di polvere di colore e con un pennello ho aggiunto il colore alla mia forma, di nuovo, ricordatevi che ne basta davvero una puntina!![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_single_image image=”1525″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]Come decoro finale ho cucito tutto intorno (ovviamente!) e ho incollato tutto insieme!
