Here we are to a brand new challange over Simon Says Stamp!

This week’s theme over Simon Says Stamp Monday Challange is “Splash it on” – incorporate water into your project. It can be an image of water, or water colouring, or splashing water onto your creation. We will be looking forward to seeing what you make!
For this week’s theme I wanted to try out the new Distress Oxide – I played around a little but I still wanted an “easy” background because I wanted that the brown cardboard was visible. and sto the little collage I did in the background…

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2753″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]I started by cutting with my Sizzix dies a piece of small cardboard in a TAG shape. I did a bit of collage and I glued random pieces of paper. I toned down the collage with gesso. I set aside to dry well.
Meanwhile I choose what Distress Oxide to use and I went with the classic combination Walnut Stain, Fossilized Amber and Broken China.

I decided to work from the darkest color to the lighter one, so i smushed the ink over an acrylic stamp block , added water and transferred the color directly onto the TAG.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2752″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]I kept doing it for all three colors making sure the previous layer was dry before applying the other one. When I was satisfied I spritzed some more water to create some effects. I liked the result.
To add even more interest to the background without making it too busy I decided to use Distress Crackle Paint….and of course this medium reacted again with the distress Oxide, so I moved the color around a bit creating an awesome effect.
I set aside to completely dry again.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2750″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” style=”vc_box_circle_2″ onclick=”zoom”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

To finish off the TAG I used the Distress Oxide Walnut Stain to stamp the background. Before stamping, I spritzed some water and the result was definitely what I wanted! A distressed stamped image! Love the watercolor effect yet you can still see the stamp! Love love love it!

For decoration I used French Industrial Salvage Stickers by Tim Holtz and one strip of cheese cloth.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_gallery interval=”0″ images=”2747,2748,2749,2750,2751,2752,2753,2754,2755″ img_size=”large”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]
